Samba Wheat Rava Pulao

Samba Wheat Rava is rich in Iron, Magnesium, Vitamins & phosphorus. It has high fiber content, hence considered healthy. It's easy to digest so it is considered diabetic friendly. It aids in weight loss. Generally, different types of pulao are prepared in different states. One among them is Samba Wheat Rava pulao. This pulao is easy to make in under 15 mins of time if the ingredients are kept ready.

Planning & Pre-Preparation: 10 mins

Cooking time: 15 mins


  • Add butter to a cooker. Then add spices such as cardamom/Elachi, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, cumin, cashew, ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add onions & saute for about half a minute.
  • Then start adding vegetables such as capsicum, carrot, beans, potatoes, and cauliflower florets. Cook on low flame for a minute.
  • Now add Samba Wheat Rava / Samba Godhumai Rava & mix well.
  • Samba Wheat Rava Pulao is ready!!! Serve with Sambar/Raita.
  • Now add water, salt, pepper, and jeera powder & mix well.
  • Cover & cook for 2 whistles on high flame.
  • Once the pressure settles down, open & mix it together.

Points to be noted

  • “Do not force release the pressure”. Let the pressure automatically settle down.
  • To maintain the texture, do not over mix the Rava Pulao after opening.
